  I've tried Lisa's Sweet Shoppe (bakery) more than once, giving Lisa (the owner), another chance. The first cake we ordered was a two tier layer cake, for a special celebration. We were new to the area and live local to the bakery. At the time, I didn't know of another baker in town, so we decided to try Lisa's Sweet Shoppe. While the decoration was not up to my expectations, what was even worse, the top layer/tier of the cake was crooked and started to sink prior to cutting into it! I just couldn't believe we had ordered this cake from an actual bakery! It certainly did not look as though it had been decorated by a professional. While it looked funny and we received some comments, we tried to overlook the whole incident. The second cake we ordered (because I believe some things deserve a second chance) was for our son's first birthday... Absolutely Horrible! A regretful mistake. I should have known better! The cake was very dry and crumbly and had no filling. A filling had been ordered, but completely left out! It was simply awful! Honestly, I could have baked a better tasting cake myself, from one of those store bought prepackaged cake box mixes, which I later did. This leads me to the following interesting discovery... Recently, one evening, my husband and I ran across one of Lisa's store clerks/cashiers, at a local grocery store check-out stand. We were surprised to see her in the midst of purchasing at least a dozen boxes of Duncan Hines French Vanilla cake mix, along with several dozens of eggs. Of course, we were not surprised by the eggs, but rather the "Duncan Hines" cake mixes, to say the least! After our previous experiences with Lisa's Sweet Shoppe, we believe this to be more than just a mere coincidence. Needless to say, If you order a cake from Lisa's Sweet Shoppe believing you are going to be getting a cake made from scratch and paying higher prices for professional decorating, simply because you are ordering from a bakery, think again! I would not recommend this bakery to a friend and I will never again return!

  I've never had a bad experience with Lisa's Sweet Shop. Cake is delicious, service is friendly, no accidents or mishaps with any of my orders (and we've ordered quite a few).
